Houston, TX (02/29/07)—Every creative concept begins with a rough draft, unrefined but teeming with exceptionally good qualities or the potential for greatness. RUFF♦CUTT, however, more closely alludes to the unruly time you’ll have gettin’ down to the brash and brassy tracks brought to you by DIRB! counterparts Gracie Chavez & El Jeffe (a.k.a. Jeff Fleishmann). These resident DJs kick off their monthly night on Saturday, March 8 at Dean’s with the international woman of leisure and hostess Biancadonk of local punk rock band Heist At Hand.
Gracie is best known as co-host/DJ of Les Femmes de la Nuit, Houston’s all-female DJ crew, and recent resident DJ of the now defunct Rock Box Thursdays. El Jeffe made a name for himself as one third of the infamous Boys&Girls Club before he cut out for New York. Back home in Texas now, he’s defying his blacklisted DJ status and making waves of his own.
